This book was enchanting, enthralling and endlessly entertaining where stubbornness and determination to rise above conflict with a core of steel to get to where love and happiness lives! Jesse and Saber's story was extraordinary to read and I loved reading about Jesse's legs regeneration process and him having the use of his legs again after what happened to him in the second story of this unique and riveting series!

"He'd seen love in her eyes, tasted it on her lips, yet they couldn't talk about who they really were."

THE STORY: Jess Calhoun is a GhostWalker, enhanced genetically to have physical and psychic abilities. When he is tortured and left in a wheelchair, he has made a new place for himself on the team. Ten months ago, a mysterious young woman came into his life. He knew that Saber Wynter was hiding something but he discovers that she is a GhostWalker as well and then begans to worry that she may be there to spy on him. Saber is one of Whitney's orphans: taken and trained as an assasin. She is now running from her fate and fears that she might have made a mistake in taking a job with Jess because he might be part of Whitney's attempts to recover her. Even worse, Jess and Saber might unknowingly be part of Whitney's breeding program.

OPINION: I loved the characters in this book. Jess and Saber have a real relationship before either realizes that the other is a GhostWalker. This relationship allows them to trust one another in the face of finding out about the truth about one another. Saber's story is especially tragic and despite her innocent appearance she may be the most damaged heroine so far. She and Jess are both different than they first appear. Jess, especially, is especially sweet even though he is a strong soldier. From the beginning, he wants Saber as his own to care for. I loved his determination to convince Saber to stay with him and to commit to their relationship. This book is also full of action and mystery about what parties are threatening Saber and Jess. I also liked that there are appearances from other GhostWalkers and we get an update on what is happening with them.

WORTH MENTIONING: For fans of the series, the conspiracy expands and gets more players.

FINAL DECISION: This book has a different feel than the previous books in this series. This book begins as a simple girl meets boy book where they are concealing their true selves and then an action adventure story breaks out. This gives the romance a different feel because these two people know one another and thus their connection is special. I really loved how it was different.

CONNECTED BOOKS: PREDATORY GAME is the sixth book in the GhostWalkers series.

STAR RATING: I give this book 4.25 stars.

I just finished reading Predatory Game and I'm actually pretty impressed. I started this series with Conspiracy Game and didn't think anyone could live up to Jack Norton (love him!) but was pleasantly surprised with Jess. To me he didn't seem leading man material--boy was I surprised. Bless him for saving Dahlia but I didn't understand how he could get his own book. Feehan however, brought this man to life. He was more than just a man in a wheelchair, he was a man with passion and heart. Some fighting scenes with him in the wheelchair weren't really feasible to me but I'll cut her some slack as she did her best to make him capable and manly despite his impairment.
Personally, I think the Ghost Walker series is her best. I'm a little concerned by how many there are--it reminds me of how the Carpathians went from being nearly extinct to suddenly having all these warriors that were sent to various continents. She does this so that she'll have plenty of men to write about but at some point you need to throw in the towel--especially when all your stories sound the same. However, this series is still fresh and has a plot other than the heroine resisitng the hero, having steamy sex, running away and then the two of them living happily ever after. I'm hoping Logan's story is next--he has some Jack elements in him :)
All in all, I have to say this is a good book. Jess is the only Ghostwalker, other than Gator, who seems to have a sense of humor. It's nice to see some emotion in these hard men. Also it was different to see that in this relationship Saber was the more reliable and the more deadly of the two. I loved that she didn't have to constantly run to Jesse for protection.

Loved Jesse and Sabre story. I had really high hopes for this book after I read Nico and Dahlia story.
After being kidnapped tortured in Nico/Dahlia book for information Jesse no longer feels his legs calf down and is confined to a wheelchair.
This in no way diminishes his sexy SEAL persona just gives people the impression he's a easier target which is further from the truth.
Sabre has escaped and on run but when she meets Jesse her running days are over. She know she should pack and keep running but something about Jesse stops her.
I love the story and the fact other ghostwalkers from Jesse's SEAL team get involved. Would love for 'Max' Logan Maxwell to find his paired women and then she kicks his ass.
One of the best series around. A MUST READ FOR ME.

Having discovered this author a few months ago, I am reading up a storm with all her series as I find I like her characters so much and it is so satisfying reading so many books in a series all at once, in fact now counting down to the current end of this series and planning which to start next!
The plot is very enjoyable as it twists and changes and keeps you on your toes.fabulous
